R&B Band Jakarta Feature At Cherokee Ranch

The nationally-acclaimed 9-voice strong Old School Funk, Rhythym & Blues Jakarta Band will perfom live in Cherokee Ranch & Castle’s Veranda Tent August 7 at 6:30 p.m. as part of Cherokee’s 2010 Performing Arts and Cultural Events All-inclusive Series. Guests will enjoy a full-scale evening of entertainment including a mini-Castle Tour, Supper Buffet, Cash Bar, Performance, followed by Dessert & Coffee with the artists. Reservations are $60/person.
“Our attendance has been tremendous this season and we expect a full house for Jakarta,” said Wilson.
“It’s no wonder this group made Denver’s Channel 7′s A-list with a 5-star rating,” Wilson said of the band’s popularity. JAKARTA has performed at the Democratic and Republican National conventions as well as a special performance at the 2009 Presidential Inauguration. At its helm is Isaac Points, Jakarta’s bassist, whose experience includes opening for Stanley Clark, Herbie Hancock, Tony Bennett, performing USO tours, singing vocals with The Platters, and playing amusement parks with Tom Slick and Jinx Jones. Jakarta’s set list of over 107 songs includes hits from Earth Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder .
“Brick House, Caribbean Queen, Ain’t No Sunshine, Billie Jean, Just My Imagination, Who’s that Lady…so many chart toppers, just evoking song titles from Jakarta’s repertoire gets people fired up to be part of this event,” said Wilson adding, “If you want to see Jakarta at Cherokee, it’s best to call our reservations hotline right away.”
Seating is limited at the intimate venue. Cherokee is located between Denver and Colorado Springs and is easily accessible to residents and visitors to Colorado’s front range.
