Odell Brewing Unveils Avant Peche
Odell Brewing will release the newest offering in its Single Serve series of beers, Avant Peche, an Imperial Porter aged in oak barrels with peaches.
Taking inspiration from the Avant Garde art movement, the Odell brewers wanted to push the boundaries of mainstream style by challenging traditional brewing techniques and ingredients. During their 2010 Colorado hop trip, they visited Big B’s Delicious Orchards and found their creative muse. They brewed a classic Imperial Porter and then aged portions in oak barrels with the locally grown peaches and wild yeasts.
“Avant Peche is a creative departure from our more traditional beers,” said brewer Brent Cordle. “It’s brewed to allow unique flavors to develop individually and at specific times.”
The final blend presents a rich and bold chocolate malt flavor enhanced by a subtle peach essence. The wild yeasts impart a slight tartness that will increase and evolve over time. Bottled in 750 ml cork and cage finish bottles, the beer will be available throughout the brewery’s nine state distributor region at a suggested retail price of $15.99 per bottle.
Odell Brewing will celebrate the release of Avant Peche with an uncorking party at the brewery’s Tap Room on January 8th. Visitors can enjoy live music and samples of the beer with local artisan dessert pairings.
